As part of our exciting partnership with Balfour Beatty Vinci, on 13th March, Year 9’s Design and Technology lesson took a fascinating turn, with a special visit from Peter Lancashire, the Senior Ecologist at Balfour Beatty Vinci (HS2). Peter, along with Harry and Jak, the dedicated Ecology Technicians, guided the pupils through an exciting hands-on project. The pupils enthusiastically assembled and painted bird boxes, creating cozy homes for Robins and Coal Tits to nest in.
The the fun didn’t stop there! Peter captivated the pupils with intriguing insights into the behaviour of these charming birds. He shared fascinating facts about their nesting habits, feeding patterns, and how they interact with their environment. The pupils were not only engaged in a creative activity but also enriched with knowledge about the wonderful world of birds.
Thank you, Peter, Harry and Jak.
