In the event of school closure or pupils not being in school, we aim to:
- Establish clear guidelines and expectations for remote learning, including schedules for learning activities and deadlines for work.
- Ensure that students have access to the necessary technology and resources to participate in remote learning, such as laptops or tablets and reliable internet connections.
- Provide training and support for teachers to effectively deliver remote learning and engage students.
- Develop a system for monitoring student participation and progress, and provide additional support and resources for students who are struggling.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers about remote learning arrangements, including updates on expectations and student progress.
- Consider the unique needs of students with disabilities, English language learners, and other vulnerable groups, providing additional support to ensure equal access.
- Review and refine our remote learning approach to ensure it remains effective and responsive to the needs of our school community.
Communication and Learning Platform
All classes use Class Dojo as the central platform for communication, sharing learning, and submitting work when remote learning is in place.
Through Class Dojo:
- Work will be set and shared by class teachers or tutor teachers
- Pupils can submit their work and receive feedback
- Parents and carers will receive updates, messages, and guidance
- Important announcements will be communicated clearly and regularly
Leadership and Management
Remote learning across the school is managed and overseen by:
- Mr J Birch (Assistant Headteacher)
- Mr M Richmond (Assistant Headteacher)
- Mrs Crockett (Assistant Headteacher)
They are responsible for ensuring:
- Consistency in the quality and quantity of work set
- Effective use of Class Dojo across all classes
- Appropriate support for staff, pupils, and families
Special Arrangements
As a small school with a wide range of needs, we will continue to work closely with parents and carers to create bespoke plans where necessary, ensuring that individual requirements are met wherever possible.
