Local Advisory Committee (LAC)

Welcome to our Governing Body Information Page

Our school is part of the Manor Hall Academy Trust which means that rather than having a Governing Body we have a Local Advisory Committee (LAC) and as an improving school is supported by a Performance Improvement Board (PIB).

Performance Improvement Board (PIB)

The Castlewood PIB consists of representatives from the Trust, as well as School Improvement partner from Solihull Local Authority. The group consists of 4 members:

• Chief Education Lead (Manor Hall Trust),
• School Improvement Officer (Manor Hall Trust),
• School Improvement Officer (Solihull Local Authority),
• LAC member

The PIB meets once every half-term with the Senior Leadership Team, to review how the school is progressing against the School Development Plan and to offer both support and challenge.

Local Advisory Committee (LAC)

This group of volunteers essentially carries out the duties of the Governing Body as found in non-academy schools.

Our LAC is comprised of 10 members:

• 5 Co-opted LAC members
• These are usually local people with a variety of experiences/backgrounds.
• The Chair and Vice Chair of the LAC are Co-opted members
• 2 Staff LAC members
• 2 Parent LAC members
• We aim to have one parent member whose child attends our Lower School Yrs1-8 and one whose child attends our Upper School Yrs 8-11.
• The Head Teacher

The LAC meets once every half-term, to review how the school is running and to ensure that both support and challenge are offered.

LAC members regularly visit the school both to monitor and support us.

As a school, we always welcome new members and currently, we have 2 Parent vacancies that we hope to fill shortly.
