On 27th February, Year 8 and Year 9 pupils participated in an engaging workshop by Severn Trent called ‘The Science of Sewage’.
Through this hands-on session, pupils explored the processes involved in wastewater treatment and gained valuable insight into the significance of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. They delved into the science and technology behind these operations, learning about their environmental impact and how they can adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The workshop also inspired pupils to consider careers in the water industry. By connecting scientific concepts to real-world applications, the session cultivated a greater appreciation for the vital role water companies play in protecting public health and the environment.
