Our Cornerstones Innovate and Express Week was an incredible showcase of creativity, learning, and collaboration, as primary pupils celebrated the culmination of their Autumn 2 topics: Dinosaur Planet, Scrumdiddlyumptious, and Hola Mexico.
In Dinosaur Planet, pupils worked together to set up a vibrant dinosaur museum. From designing imaginative and unique biscuits at the dinosaur café to creating engaging exhibits, the museum brought prehistoric creatures to life. The children showcased their artistic flair with dinosaur-themed treats featuring wild patterns, sharp teeth, and even multiple eyes! Visitors couldn’t get enough of the creativity, with many coming back for seconds at the café.
For the Scrumdiddlyumptious topic, pupils explored the world of healthy eating by designing and making their very own smoothies. They conducted market research, experimented with flavours, and analyzed the nutritional value of various fruits before carefully choosing their ingredients. After blending their smoothies to perfection, they added a personal touch by creating beautifully designed labels for their bottles. The effort and thought they put into this project were truly impressive!
Meanwhile, Hola Mexico saw pupils dive into Mexican culture by crafting stunning Maya masks using a variety of materials. These vibrant creations reflected their dedication and creativity throughout the topic.
The week also included opportunities to integrate key skills such as computing. Pupils used coding to design routes for characters to follow, applying their knowledge of positional language and directions. They carefully planned algorithms to guide their characters to the finish line, building logical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way.
Our Innovate and Express Week highlighted the depth of learning and enthusiasm in every classroom. From museums to smoothies and creative crafts, pupils had the chance to shine and share their hard work with pride. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the term and all the amazing progress made this Autumn!
