As part of our careers programme, lower school pupils recently took part in an engaging and educational visit to the Safeside Centre, run by West Midlands Fire Service. The visit offered a hands-on learning experience within a realistic indoor safety village, designed to build confidence and life skills through immersive scenarios.
From navigating a street scene and crossing roads to exploring a mock house, bus, and train station, students were guided through everyday situations in a safe, controlled environment. The programme focused on personal safety and independence, helping young learners understand potential risks and how to respond to them.
Tailored to meet the needs of the group, the two-hour sessions were both informative and empowering. The visit not only supported classroom learning but also encouraged students to think critically and act safely in real-world settings.
